hand stitched folk art pictures with donatella crippa

Donatella Crippa has been creating her narrative appliquè pictures for many years. She works with vintage and new fabrics which she sometimes dyes or block prints to achieve a very personal effect. She uses a mixture of appliquè, batik painting and felt cut-outs together with simple hand stitching to produce an image of illustrative quality. Donatella has exhibited in many art galleries, both in England and her native country Italy. Her work has been featured in new book "Textiles Now" published by Laurence King. She' s also a children' s book illustrator.
