Madeleine Millington is well known throughout the country for her work with recycled dyed blanket. She exhibits at The Knitting and Stitch Shows and The Festival of Quilts and is the designer behind the successful 'Blankits' range of kits.

Madeleine's embroidered, quirky pieces are works depicting themes such as people, birds, boats. She is a member of The Devon Guild of Craftsmen.

What you will do on the course

Mad Cushion
Simple or more complicated. Just let your imagination flow and create a lovely special, colourful cushion using dyed blanket fabric and handstitching. Samples and ideas will be provided or you can bring your own source of inspiration.

Whacky Tea cosy.
A fun workshop developing an original design for your own bespoke 'cosy', using dyed blanket fabric. Hand stitch a piece of art for your kitchen!

What you should bring with you

Darning needle
Pins
Buttons/ beads if you have them
Paper and pencil for designing and making templates
Paper-cutting scissors
Sharp embroidery scissors
Colourful double knitting wool if you have it (Madeleine will bring lots with her that you can use)

For all the above Madeleine will bring her travelling shop where students can buy dyed blanket fabric.
