What you will do on the course
Sarah’s course involves deconstructing textiles destined for landfill and reworking them into revived garments with a unique contemporary style. You will be encouraged to see your creations as timeless pieces to hang with the best of your favourite garments in your wardrobe.
Over 2 days you will create a one-off individually styled sweater/cardigan or camisole and an appliquéd scarf or a rose-corsage. Sewing thread and possibly vanishing Vilene and/or vanishing thread are the only new resources that you will use ............. the rest is reclaimed from your old items of clothing.......... buttons, zips ....... even interfacing.
If you are passionate about all things Textiles (or have plans to be) and have a desire to understand more about the possibilities of living more sustainably within the sartorial context then there’s a good chance you will enjoy attending Sarah’s course. |
